White Witch Golf Course at Rose Hall

Rose Hall, Saint James | 18 holes | Par: 71 | 6758 yards

The White Witch Course at Rose Hall is named after one of Jamaica's most famous legends, Annie Palmer who was called the "White Witch of Rose Hall." It is rumored that her spirit haunts the Rose Hall estate, including the golf course. Rather than a tropical setting, the course has a unique mountainous terrain but the vibrant foliage, tradewinds, and pleasant ocean views are still in keeping with its Caribbean location. The golf course is challenging with an intimidating layout that features dramatic elevation changes and numerous well-placed bunkers. Although it is a difficult course, its scenery makes it popular amongst all golfers.

The layout of the course is challenging, and the scenery is great. However, the course is not in the best shape, and if you look forward to having a cold drink at the bar after your round you'll be disappointed. The bar is essentially in a closet.

The frustrating part is that the club house is beautiful and has an amazing veranda with an incredible view. If they served food and had a nice bar there it would be hard to leave.

What makes up for the downsides are the staff. They are wonderful and on their game. My caddie was great and so was the pace of play.

This course and Cinnamon Hills are the best courses on the island. I've played them all except for Tryall which I expect to play here soon. You will not be disappointed in this course at all. It will test your skill no matter what your handicap.
